In this piece, two maroons use every element of the natural world as cover: the depth of dark water, the height of wild grass, the absolute absence of light. Man and wombman, mouth deep, moving through the night toward something the darkness alone could protect. A meditation on ancestral resilience, chosen invisibility, and the sacred act of escape.
